Within the framework of the Memorandum of Cooperation signed between the Republican Pedagogical-Psychological Center and KANANI NGO, an awareness-raising course on “The Role of Parents in Overcoming Gender Stereotypes during Early Socialization” topic was held in Gyumri on January 30, 2025. The aim of the Course was to engage the parents in discussions and uncover gender stereotypes that can be formed in the early stages of a child’s development, hindering their full socialization in the future.
The trainer was Ani Khudoyan, a methodologist-trainer and psychologist of the RPPC Department of Training and Methodological Support.
The key topics of the Course were:
- ✦ Peculiarities of the manifestation of gender stereotypes;
- ✦ The impact of gender stereotypes on the child’s socialization;
- ✦ Factors contributing to the formation of gender stereotypes;
- ✦ Ways to overcome gender stereotypes.
Parents were provided with relevant knowledge and tools for identifying and preventing gender stereotypes.
