Within the framework of the “ENSURING THE DEVELOPMENT OF TEACHING SKILLS OF TEACHERS AND TEACHER ASSISTANTS IN COMPREHENSIVE SCHOOLS” Program implemented by the Republican Pedagogical-Psychological Center, the program mentors met with the staff of the RA Territorial Pedagogical-Psychological Support Centers in March 2025.
During the meetings, the work carried out by the TPPSCs was summarized, and various issues related to the activities of the TPPSCs were addressed, in particular, the mentor-TPPSC-school relationship, the importance and effectiveness of their cooperation, the amendments made to the legal documents and the actions resulting from them, the role and work functions of a teacher assistant in a general educational institution, co-teaching, procedures for filling out the IEPs, the implementation of joint training courses to increase the efficiency of education, etc.
During the meetings, courses, training courses, seminars, lectures, and workshops on various modern topics were organized and implemented.

The training courses were accompanied by interactive discussions and practical tasks on relevant topics.

Actions aimed at overcoming existing issues were also considered:

- ✦ Implementing joint activities between the TPPSC director and the school-serving specialist-mentor, as a result of which lectures will be held in classes that include students with special educational needs;
- ✦ Regulating the issue of full parental involvement in setting and assessing goals in the student’s IEP.
Particular attention was paid to the need for smart adaptations for students with special educational needs, case analysis, and future actions in that direction.
Actions aimed at increasing the effectiveness of activities carried out with students with special educational needs in schools were reviewed.
The mentors presented the activities they carry out in educational institutions, detailing the steps of support. The mentors also attached importance to active work with the multidisciplinary team in schools, the correct use of the position and functions of teacher assistants, and overcoming stereotypical approaches of the teachers.
