The opening ceremony of the Pilot Project of Implementation of the State Standard of General Education in the general educational establishments of Tavush Region took place on July 6, 2021.
The Pilot Project of the State Standard of General Education is implemented within the framework of the “European Union for Innovation” partnership project of the World Bank and RA MoESCS.
The project is implemented by Tavush Regional Administration, National Center for Education Development and Innovation” Foundation, Republican Pedagogical-Psychological Center and “Ayb” Educational Foundation.
The training courses will be carried out by two organizations: National Center for Education Development and Innovation” Foundation will provide training courses for teachers of social sciences, and the “Ayb” Educational Foundation will provide training courses for teachers of science and mathematics.
The Republican Pedagogical-Psychological Center is involved in the logistical support component of the current pilot project.
The directors and deputy directors of Tavush Region secondary schools and representatives of other organizations implementing the current project were present at the opening ceremony.
RA MoESCS Deputy Minister Zhanna Andreasyan presented the process of testing the new standards of general education, noting that from September 1 the educational process in the 2nd, 5th, 7th and 10th grades of all secondary schools of Tavush Region will be organized according to the new standards.
After the testing of the standards, taking into account the results of the pilot project, it will be finalized and from September 2023 the New Standard of General Education will be entered into force and will be applied in other regions of RA and in Yerevan.
RA MoESCS Deputy Minister Zhanna Andreasyan briefly presented the changes proposed by the new standards, which will give an opportunity to register qualitative changes in general education.
Executive Director at “National Center for Education Development and Innovation” Foundation Artashes Torosyan and Executive Director of the “AYB” Educational Foundation Sona Koshetsyan presented the schedule and work procedures.
In the second part of the workshop, school representatives raised a number of issues related to the implementation of the project and training courses.
