On December 20, 2024, a workshop entitled “EDUCATION BEGINS WITH ME” was held at Armenian State Pedagogical University after Khachatur Abovyan, dedicated to the preschool education system, its importance, and the work being carried out in this direction.
The aim of the Workshop is to discuss modern pedagogical approaches and exchange best practices within the system.
The Workshop was held in regional and national stages. The regional stage consisted of three workshops, where thematic discussions were organized on improving the content of preschool education, the peculiarities of the socio-psychological development of preschool children, as well as issues related to physical education and healthy lifestyle.
Welcoming the attendees, Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia A. Svajyan addressed the work carried out in the field of preschool education, particularly the introduction of the preschool education standard, the training of about 1500 preschool teachers, the certification processes of directors, and the activities carried out to improve the building conditions of preschool educational institutions. Mrs. Svajyan drew attention to the fact that the number of children with SEN in preschool educational institutions has increased almost tenfold, attaching importance to the need to expand the scope of work in accordance with these needs, as well as increase the quality and efficiency. She highlighted the actions being taken to protect children’s rights, attaching particular importance to the exclusion of violence in preschool educational institutions and the physical protection of children.

The opening ceremony of the Workshop was followed by a question and answer session, during which the Head of the Department for General Education of the RA MoESCS Tamara Sargsyan answered questions from representatives of preschool educational institutions regarding preschool education and reforms.
Then, the Conference continued with separate workshops, focusing on four main areas:
- ✦ Improvement of the content of preschool education;
- ✦ Peculiarities of the socio-psychological development of preschoolers;
- ✦ Physical education and healthy lifestyle;
- ✦ Management of preschool educational institutions and food services.
Methodologist-Trainer of RPPC Department of Training and Methodological Support, Lecturer at ASPU Chair of Psychology, PhD in Psychology Ani Khudoyan, and Psychologist of RPPC Department of Pedagogical-Psychological Assistance Armine Avagyan also delivered reports at the Workshop.
Within the framework of the Workshop, an educational expo was organized, during which the development games and didactic materials created by the RA Preschool Educational Institutions and used in the educational process were presented.
