On June 16 and 18, 2025, master classes on alternative therapies were organized at the Republican Pedagogical-Psychological Center for special educators of the RA Territorial Pedagogical-Psychological Support Centers.
The master classes aimed to contribute to the development of self-expression, communication, and team engagement skills of the participants, as well as to improve their professional competencies.
The master classes were held in an interactive format, where each participant was not only an observer but also an active member. This initiative was also aimed at contributing to the reduction of stress caused by professional workload and promoting the overall well-being of the participants by creating a trusting and cooperative environment.
Our colleagues from TPPSCs participated in alternative therapies: theater, pottery, and dance, as well as gained hands-on knowledge of the specificities and nuances of the therapies.
The master classes commenced with drama therapy. “What’s in Our Heads and Minds” game, presented by art therapist Marine Asatryan, engaged the participants, helping each of them to perceive events through the prism of their own experiences, thoughts, and feelings. Through the works of Swedish artist Medya Bulduk, they tried to reveal the differences in people’s thoughts and facial expressions, uniquely “sifting” them and trying to understand what remained “under the sieve” and what “on the sieve,” and how these thoughts can be used as a working tool during pedagogical-psychological support.
The master class entitled “Dance and Feel the Power of Movement” was conducted by dance therapist Anna Gharibyan. Through dance workout, the participants tried to discover the transformative and healing effects of movement aimed at maintaining psychological and physical health, as well as managing and regulating behavioral issues.
Afterwards, under the guidance of art therapist Taguhi Stepanyan, the specialists participated in the clay therapy master class entitled “Me and Him”, during which they created various objects with clay, discovering the possibilities of clay therapy through their own experience, and the positive impulses that emerge through creative activity, thus “talking” about their inner world, feelings, and emotions.
The master classes were interesting and rich. They provided TPPSC specialists with new and innovative tools, which are significant to apply in their work, thus achieving a qualitative increase in pedagogical-psychological services.
