AWARE PARENTS BUILD STRONG AND SUPPORTIVE COMMUNITIES
On June 24, 2025, an online course for parents on the “KEY ISSUES OF CHILDHOOD IN THE 21ST CENTURY” topic was held.
The trainer of the Course was Hakob Tadevosyan, a specialist at RPPC Content Development Department, PhD in Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor.
The Course was aimed at addressing the key issues and challenges that the parent community faces in the 21st century. It is not only about the parent-child relationship, but also about the age-related pedagogical-psychological characteristics of children in the digital era, as well as the multifaceted issues related to them, which pose serious research and risk management requirements for education and upbringing in general.
The trainer highlighted the main qualities that are characteristic of children of different age groups in the 21st century, starting from the tendencies towards the formation of emotional qualities, manifestations of tolerance, empathy, compassion, altruism, and needs, to psychological difficulties, which are largely due to modern technologies, in particular their digitization processes and the access of children to digital tools.
The speaker touched upon changes in cognitive, perceptual, and thinking processes, as well as attitudes toward education, and the results of his own research in this direction, which are aimed at helping children focus their attention, accurately perceive spoken language, memorize educational materials, express thoughts and emotions verbally, follow disciplinary norms in educational institutions, and address the difficulties and problems of academic motivation, offering professional solutions.
Speaking about the main features that characterize the digital generation, the trainer presented a methodology and tools aimed at regulating parent-child relationships that will help parents in the process of building and regulating their relationships with their children.
During the Q&A session, different parenting approaches were also addressed, considering them from the perspective of the different mindset and value system of the child of the new era, and summarizing the question of how to respond to the development and age changes of the modern child, manage these developments, and ensure his successful and active socialization.
