The aim of the training courses was to contribute to the development of professional skills among educators and psychologists in preschool and general educational institutions, in the context of introducing and operating the Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) system within these institutions, which is an important component of educational reforms.
About 320 specialists from 8 general educational and 8 preschool educational institutions in the RA Shirak, Kotayk, and Lori marzes, and Yerevan participated in the Training Courses.
The Courses included theoretical knowledge and practical exercises, allowing participants to not only revise their understanding of children’s mental health and well-being, but also acquire clear tools to apply in their daily work. During the Courses, the participants also addressed important topics such as promoting mental health in educational settings, increasing children’s psychosocial resilience, as well as effective ways to engage families and parents.
According to the participants, the Courses gave them the opportunity to:
- ✦ take a fresh look at the role of the educational environment in ensuring the child’s mental health, emotional, and psychosocial stability;
- ✦ learn practical methods for overcoming stress, developing communication and socio-emotional skills;
- ✦ strengthen cooperation with parents, viewing them not as observers, but as important partners in ensuring the child’s well-being.
