On October 31, 2025, a conference entitled “SAFE AND SECURE EDUCATIONAL ENVIRONMENT” was held in Spitak, which was initiated and organized by Spitak Territorial Pedagogical-Psychological Support Center.
The aim of the Conference was to:
- ✦ promote the formation of a safe and secure educational environment through joint discussions, exchange of experience and cooperation;
- ✦ unite specialists working in the field of education and all interested organizations that will contribute to the creation of a safe and secure educational environment;
- ✦ identify the key issues of ensuring a safe educational environment;
- ✦ present best practices and methods in order to strengthen physical, psychological and social safety in the field of pedagogy.
The Conference was attended by representatives of the Republican Pedagogical-Psychological Center, Lori Regional Administration, Spitak Community Administration, Regional Departments of the RA Human Rights Defender, Territorial Pedagogical-Psychological Support Centers, interested non-governmental organizations, as well as leading specialists in the field, representatives of educational institutions, parents, and students.
The topics of the reports presented at the Conference were aimed at creating a safe and secure educational environment, identifying and preventing challenges in this direction, while considering them from different contexts.
RPPC Deputy Director Haykuhi Adamyan, Head of the Department of Information and Public Relations Marina Soghomonyan, and Methodologist-Trainer at the Training and Methodological Support Department, PhD in Psychological Sciences Lilit Karapetyan also delivered reports at the Conference.
In her report entitled “SAFE CLASSROOM: APPROACHES TO BUILDING A CULTURE OF TRUST,” H. Adamyan elaborated on the significance of building trust within classrooms and the measures necessary to support it, while highlighting the teacher’s role in this context as a determining factor.
In the report entitled “PERSONAL DATA PROTECTION: FROM AWARENESS TO A SAFE EDUCATIONAL ENVIRONMENT,” M. Soghomonyan presented a comprehensive overview of the legal regulations aimed at personal data protection, procedures to raise awareness regarding children’s personal data and the steps aimed at data protection.
L. Karapetyan presented a report on the “SAFETY AS A PREREQUISITE FOR DEVELOPMENT” topic, attaching importance to the safe environment in all aspects in educational institutions and its impact on the overall development of children.
The Conference concluded with key points, emphasizing that the organization of education in a safe and secure environment requires coordinated work across all levels.
