Within the framework of the “Ensuring the Development of Inclusive Teaching Skills of Teachers and Teacher Assistants of Secondary Schools” program, implemented by the Republican Pedagogical-Psychological Center, a four-day training course for the first group of program mentors and observers was launched on November 28, 2025.
The Training Course was based on amendments to the Program content, which will come into effect in 2026. The aim was to modernize and enhance the participants’ teaching skills to ensure the effective implementation of the new stage of the Program.
Welcoming the participants, RPPC Director Lilit Mnatsakanyan presented the current and planned programs implemented by the Republican Pedagogical-Psychological Center in this field. She attached importance to activities aimed at strengthening the teachers’ capacities in schools, noting that the development of appropriate skills is a key factor in ensuring a safe educational environment. In this context, Mrs. Mnatsakanyan also highlighted the need to ensure the safety and accessibility of the physical environments of educational institutions, the implementation of reasonable adaptations, and the transfer of relevant information to teachers.
The trainers were RPPC Deputy Director Haykuhi Adamyan, Head of the Department of Training and Methodological Support Ruzanna Muradyan and Program Coordinator, RPPC Specialist Marina Hovhannisyan, as well as Narine Mesropyan and Anna Aslanyan. The trainers presented the participants with the course on “Safe and Secure Educational Environment,” developed based on the “Guidelines for Child Protection and Safety at School,” the materials included in the “Increasing the Psychosocial Resilience of Children” manual, and the toolkits designed for working with learners in this area.
The main topics of the Training Course were:
- ✦ Psychological and Physical Safety at Schools;
- ✦ Legislative Grounds of Child Protection, as well as Reporting and Referral Procedures;
- ✦ Basic Principles of Prevention and Response to Violence (Bullying) at Schools;
- ✦ Mental Health and Psychosocial Support at Schools;
- ✦ The Role and Working Toolkit of the Teacher and Psychologist in the Process of Developing Children’s Mental Health and Psychosocial Skills;

The Training Courses were conducted using interactive teaching principles. During the Training Courses, participants had the opportunity to act as trainers, which served as positive motivation and provided valuable practical experience in becoming familiar with the course materials and mastering the proposed skills. All participants received the necessary feedback to support the further improvement of their training skills.
Various game-based exercises were conducted on the topic of “Planning and Mapping Personal Growth and Development,” and a session on “Possibilities for Using Artificial Intelligence Tools” was presented, which attracted considerable interest and proved relevant.
Upon completion of the Training Course, participants were awarded with certificates.
The “ENSURING THE DEVELOPMENT OF INCLUSIVE TEACHING SKILLS OF TEACHERS AND TEACHER ASSISTANTS OF SECONDARY SCHOOLS” program is aimed at contributing to the development of teachers’ professional capabilities through continuous mentoring support in order to create a safe and secure environment in schools, as well as to increase the psychosocial resilience of students.
