Within the framework of the “Development of the Education System through the Inclusion of Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) in Education” Program, implemented with the support of the Government of Japan, in cooperation with the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia, UNICEF Armenia and the Republican Pedagogical-Psychological Center, activities continue in preschool educational institutions.
The meetings conducted during this stage aim to support children’s psychosocial well-being and build their inner resilience through playful, mobile, and creative methods. Within the framework of the Program, children develop skills to recognize and express their emotions, remain calm in stressful situations, cooperate and communicate, as well as make independent choices.
Each meeting is built around engaging games and exercises, carefully designed to consider the age-related developmental characteristics, interests, and individual needs of children. The exercises can be easily applied by educators in the daily educational process: during group and play activities, organized classes, as well as in joint work with a psychologist.
The meetings are conducted in a warm, safe, and positive atmosphere, where children learn to trust themselves, each other, and adults through play and interaction.
Supporting children’s mental health and well-being in preschool serves as an important foundation for their comprehensive development, the formation of social skills, and their successful inclusion in the later educational process.
