Within the framework of the “ENSURING THE DEVELOPMENT OF INCLUSIVE TEACHING SKILLS OF TEACHERS AND TEACHER ASSISTANTS OF SECONDARY SCHOOLS” program, implemented by the Republican Pedagogical-Psychological Center, a training course for mentors in Yerevan was held from March 2 to March 6, 2026.
Welcoming the participants, RPPC Director Lilit Mnatsakanyan presented the processes implemented by the Republican Pedagogical-Psychological Center in this field, attaching importance to activities aimed at strengthening the teachers’ capacities in schools. In the context of factors for ensuring a safe educational environment, Mrs. Mnatsakanyan also addressed the formation of appropriate skills of teachers, the safety and accessibility of the physical environments of educational institutions, reasonable accommodations, and other issues.
The trainers were RPPC Specialists Haykuhi Adamyan, Ruzanna Muradyan, Liana Margaryan, Marina Hovhannisyan, Lusine Hakobyan, Ofelia Grigoryan, Narine Mesropyan, Gayane Manukyan, and Anna Aslanyan.
During the Training Course, the trainers presented the course on “Safe and Secure Educational Environment,” developed based on the “Guidelines for Child Protection and Safety at School,” the materials included in the “Increasing the Psychosocial Resilience of Children” manual, and the toolkits designed for working with learners in this area.
The thematic focus of the Course was on the psychological and physical safety of children at school, legislative protection, prevention and response to violence (bullying), the processes implemented towards the introduction of the MHPSS system, as well as issues related to the role and working tools of the teacher and psychologist in the MHPSS process, the formation of students’ social-emotional learning skills, and the use of digital innovation tools.
During the Training Course, which was conducted with the help of interactive teaching principles, participants had the opportunity to act as trainers, as well as to provide feedback to support the further improvement of their training skills.
At the end of the Training Course, RPPC Director awarded certificates to the participants, expressing confidence that the knowledgeable, dedicated, and experienced mentors from our organization will visit schools to help teachers improve their work.
The “ENSURING THE DEVELOPMENT OF INCLUSIVE TEACHING SKILLS OF TEACHERS AND TEACHER ASSISTANTS OF SECONDARY SCHOOLS” program is aimed at contributing to the development of teachers’ professional capabilities through continuous mentoring support in order to create a safe and secure environment in schools, as well as to increase the psychosocial resilience of students.
