Within the framework of cooperation with the Republican Pedagogical-Psychological Center and Perkins School for the Blind organization, the eighteenth webinar on the “SENSORY LEARNING” topic was held on February 21, 2025.
The speakers of the Webinar were experts from the “Perkins International” organization Martina Celizić, Senada Jagar, and Andrea Paulik.
The Webinar was about the first of the four stages of cognitive development, the sensorimotor stage, during which the speakers briefly addressed key concepts of sensory learning such as sensory stimuli, sensory processing, sensory engagement, and sensorimotor learning.
The speakers presented a detailed overview of the processes of targeted stimulation of sensory receptors, perception, transmission, and interpretation of sensory stimuli during interaction with the environment, interventions aimed at alleviating sensory processing difficulties, and sensorimotor learning.
The participants of the Webinar were introduced to the features of working with children with sensory impairments. They particularly learned how to develop a sequence of actions in order to improve the quality of their life, develop functional skills, and ensure social accessibility to the surrounding environment.
