On November 2, 2026, a meeting with representatives of the parent community was held at the Republican Pedagogical-Psychological Center as part of an Open Doors Day.
RPPC Director Lilit Mnatsakanyan emphasized the importance of organizing such meetings on a regular basis as a vital platform for strengthening cooperation with the parent community, ensuring direct and effective communication, evaluating the effectiveness of various areas of RPPC activity, and promoting continuous improvement.
Representatives of the parent community raised concerns and shared practical challenges encountered in realizing the right to education for children with special educational needs. They also brought several issues, particularly those related to:
- ✦ the difficulties arising during the assessment of special educational needs, as well as the need to clarify assessment timelines;
- ✦ improving the performance of specialists at Territorial Pedagogical-Psychological Support Centres (TPPSCs) and enhancing the effectiveness of their cooperation with parents;
- ✦ the organization of professional support and effective parent-specialist communication;
- ✦ the physical accessibility of schools, the availability of reasonable adaptations, and their continuous improvement.
The discussion also addressed the organization of education for children who are currently out of the school system, as well as the objectives and functions of the “Resource Room” Project.
Appropriate clarifications and responses were provided to the issues raised.
The Republican Pedagogical-Psychological Center attached importance to an open, constructive dialogue with the parent community, built on mutual trust. The RPPC representatives remain committed to discussing parents’ concerns, listening to their suggestions and observations, as well as working together to find effective solutions to existing challenges.
We are confident that the active involvement and cooperation of parents are essential prerequisites for realizing every child’s right to education.
