On October 24, 2024, a seminar on “Assessment of the Speech Sound Production and Phonetics in Preschool and Early School Age” was held at the Republican Pedagogical-Psychological Center.
The aim of the Seminar was to develop and improve the skills of specialists/speech therapists working with preschool and primary school children in conducting research and assessment of children’s phonological processes.
The Seminar was conducted by Specialist of RPPC Content Development Department, PhD in Pedagogy, Associate Professor Emilya Tadevosyan.
Speech therapists from RPPC and the RA Territorial Pedagogical-Psychological Support Centers participated in the meeting.
During the Seminar, the general content of the work on assessing pronunciation, syllabic structure of speech, and phonetic processes, as well as the peculiarities of these activities in the case of children aged 3-6, and 7-10, were presented.
The speaker touched upon the research process of phonetic processes, presenting the processes of phonetic perception, development of analytical abilities, comparison, and formation of imagination at each age stage, and spoke in that context about differentiated attention, the peculiarities of phonetic pronunciation, and the factors contributing to its development.
