On December 13, 2024, a seminar on “The Role and Importance of Ergotherapy” was held at the Republican Pedagogical-Psychological Center, which was conducted by Methodologist-Trainer of the RPPC Training Department, Occupational Therapist Seda Miroyan. Graduate students of the Faculty of Special and Inclusive Education of Armenian State Pedagogical University named after Kh. Abovyan attended the Seminar.
During the Seminar, the speaker presented what ergotherapy is, talked about its importance, and the prerequisites for its effectiveness. She provided a detailed overview of the history of ergotherapy, and its ideological and philosophical definitions, attaching importance to its role and potential, trying to form a clear understanding among the students about the working functions of ergotherapy and its unique features.
Seda Miroyan noted what the work direction and strategy of an occupational therapist are when working with different age groups and facing different issues. Special attention was paid to the presentation of the Person-Environment-Occupation model and the practical work carried out within its framework. The importance of a multifaceted and flexible approach to the work of an occupational therapist was emphasized for the correct assessment of the visitor’s needs and goal setting.
