For the effective organization and implementation of the educational process, it is necessary to meet the diverse needs of students, thereby contributing to their active participation and increasing their engagement in the educational process. In this context, the assessment of the need for special educational conditions is a significant process, which is aimed at observing the child’s participation in the educational programs, identifying their development potential, and determining the necessary special educational conditions and reasonable accommodations.
The primary objective of the assessment is to promote accessibility, inclusion, quality, and efficiency of education, as well as to offer comfortable and accessible environmental conditions.
Republican Pedagogical-Psychological Center has developed the toolkit for assessing the needs of children with special educational conditions within the framework of the “Improving the Pedagogical-Psychological Support Service System for Children with Sen” Program implemented in cooperation with UNICEF.
Guided by the RA Laws “On Preschool Education” and “On General Education”, toolkits have been developed for assessing the need for special educational conditions related to speech and language, communication, hearing, vision, intellectual (mental), emotional, behavioral, and mobility problems, according to 5 age groups. The toolkit used in the assessment process of children of each age group includes assessment reports and tools (tasks, workbooks, stimulus materials for 3-5, 6-10, 11-14, 15-18, 19 and above age groups), as well as establishes criteria for conducting the assessment.
