On March 20, 2025, in cooperation with the Republican Pedagogical-Psychological Center and Perkins School for the Blind organization, a webinar was held on the “ENCOURAGING EXPLORATION AND LEARNING IN CHILDREN WITH MULTIPLE DISABILITIES” topic.
During the Webinar, participants were introduced to various strategies for working with children with multiple disabilities. The strategies are aimed at promoting a holistic approach to learning. Martina Celizić, an expert from the “Perkins International” organization, addressed those strategies, attaching importance to the principles of action-based intervention, active learning, and the so-called “spiral learning.” Children learn when they have the opportunity to discover, explore, and experiment and when they are given equal opportunities in all areas of development: motor, communication, cognitive, and social. Martina Celizić emphasized the need to develop meaningful programs for learners with multiple disabilities based on the assessment of abilities, interests, and needs. The speaker also touched upon the need to stimulate children’s interest in developing and learning through targeted arrangement of the environment, highlighting this component in the system of a holistic approach to learning.
We would like to remind you, that the series of webinars is aimed at the exchange of best practices between specialists from different countries.
