Awareness-raising courses for the parent community of general and preschool educational institutions, conducted by the Republican Pedagogical-Psychological Center continue.
Family-school cooperation is a two-way process aimed at aligning the goals, forms, and methods of family upbringing and school education.
In February-May 2025, courses on the “FAMILY-SCHOOL COOPERATION” topic were held at Aghavnatun Secondary School Named After Gh. Abgaryan, Mughni Basic School Named After Archbishop Mesrop Ashchyan, Gyumri Basic School № 20 Named After Byron, Stepanavan № 3 Secondary School Named After Hovh.Tumanyan, Ijevan Basic School № 3 Named After Gurgen Edilyan, and Yerevan Basic School № 154 Named After George Dunayants.
The trainer was Eliza Keoshkaryan, a special educator at RPPC Department of Pedagogical-Psychological Assistance. Around 100 parents, representatives of the school staff, and pedagogical workers participated in the training.
The aim of the training courses was to introduce parents to the forms and principles of family-school cooperation, to provide methods of cooperation that will contribute to the development and personal growth of the student, as well as to the formation of academic motivation, the maintenance of physical and mental health, and the establishment of social relationships.
During the training courses, the achievements and successes recorded as a result of parents’ active involvement in the educational process were touched upon, which are important for the children, the parents, the teachers, and the school.
During the training course, parents were introduced to the approaches of establishing effective relationships with their children, as well as the methods for organizing children’s daily routine, which will make their daily life more interesting and meaningful. Parents were also provided with family-school cooperation mechanisms, which are aimed at building and harmonizing effective relationships between teachers, students, and parents.
The training courses were interactive and accompanied by active discussions and games.
The meetings are ongoing and aimed at expanding parents’ knowledge in this direction, promoting parent-school cooperation and increasing the effectiveness of education.
