On May 31, 2025, the webinar on the “HOW DOES MY CHILD SEE” topic was held in cooperation with the Republican Pedagogical-Psychological Center and Perkins School for the Blind organization.
The speaker of the Webinar was Snježana Seitz, an expert from the “Perkins International” organization.
The key topics of the Webinar were:՝
- ✦ the importance of vision in early childhood;
- ✦ the prerequisites for developing good vision;
- ✦ early identification of risks.
By addressing the importance of vision at an early age, the speaker emphasized its exceptional significance and influence on all areas of development, stimulating the growth of essential ideas. Snježana Seitz attached importance to understanding the crucial periods of vision development in terms of early recognition of the risks of functional visual impairment, so that intervention can be carried out in a timely and appropriate manner.
During the Webinar, the speaker also noted that visual functioning is crucial for the development of cognitive processes, allowing children to perceive their environment, see how others use certain objects, and learn cause-and-effect relationships by observing and exploring the world around them through visual information. The impact of vision on the development of motor skills, socialization, and parent-child communication was discussed, highlighting their anatomical and psychological prerequisites.
