Two-day international scientific and educational forum on “SPECIAL EDUCATION IN THE 21ST CENTURY” topic was held on April 3-4, 2024 organized by the “Pushkin Leningrad State University” by the Institute of Rehabilitation Pedagogy, Center for the Development of Inclusive Education of the Russian Academy of Education in cooperation with Herzen State Pedagogical University and Cherepovets State University.
RPPC director Lilit Mnatsakanyan also made a report at this international forum. The topic of the report was “Total Inclusive Education System in the Republic of Armenia”. She presented in detail the total inclusive education system implemented in RA in stages since 2016, as a result of which it is expected to have an inclusive education system by 2025 with flexible curricula and trained teachers, who will be able to use modern teaching toolkits and technologies, providing accessible, adapted and a stimulating environment for all learners.
Also, RPPC director referred to the three-level system of responding to the child’s educational needs, which provides an opportunity to organize the education of children with SEN without separating the child from the family, ensuring his comprehensive social development and including him in the educational process. She spoke about the main directions of support services provided to the participants of the educational process, emphasizing reasonable adjustments aimed at ensuring the accessibility, equal participation, and quality of education for every child.
