On October 5, 2026, a parenting course entitled “MY CHILD THROUGH MY EYES, OR HOW I SEE THEM” was held at the Republican Pedagogical-Psychological Center, attended by parents of children participating in the RPPC alternative therapy groups.
The trainer of the Course was Alina Manukyan, a specialist at RPPC Department of Content Development, PhD in Psychological Sciences, Associate Professor.
The Course was aimed at guiding parents to view their child’s behaviour within a broader context, seeking not only to understand but also to discern what might lie beneath that behaviour. The core message was: understand first, then respond.
The speaker attached particular attention not only to identifying a child’s potential needs and the importance of selecting appropriate support based on their individual requirements, but also to recognizing and fostering the child’s strengths. The maintenance of clear boundaries regarding acceptable and unacceptable behaviours was also emphasized, while simultaneously taking into account the child’s emotions, capabilities, and immediate needs.
The Course included exercises requiring solutions to various scenarios, during which parents were introduced to new practical approaches for viewing situations from different perspectives and developing appropriate response mechanisms.
