Welcoming the attendees, Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan attached importance to the opportunities for professional discussion and experience sharing among teachers, emphasizing that modern education should contribute not only to the transmission of knowledge but also to the development of learners’ ability to think independently, analyse, and solve problems. Mrs. Andreasyan stated the importance of transforming knowledge into practical skills and making the connection between what is taught and real life visible to children. The Minister extended her gratitude to teachers for their extensive daily work, highlighting that the greatest recognition of a teacher’s work is seeing children who are interested, motivated, and eager to learn.
During the panel discussion on “What Reading Means in the 21st Century: From Texts to Data,” participants discussed the distinctive features of reading in the 21st century, the comprehension of textbooks and literary texts, challenges associated with reading in digital environments, and a range of issues related to the challenges facing modern education.
