The session of the Expert Council under the State Duma Committee on Education of the Russian Federation will take place on April 19th, 2023. The international scientific and educational forum “Special Education in the 21st Century” was held within the framework of this session.
The aim of the forum was to consider the perspectives of their development from the point of view of modern approaches to the implementation of special education and to develop mechanisms to make these perspectives more effective.
RPPC Deputy director Haykuhi Adamyan also made a report on “Inclusive education as a guarantee of quality and accessible education in the Republic of Armenia” topic at this forum.
H. Adamyan presented the trends of introduction and strengthening of an inclusive quality education system at all levels of education, and RA legislative regulations in the transition process.
She also referred to the activities of the Republican Pedagogical -Psychological Center, in particular, the three-level system of responding to the educational needs of children, as well as the procedures for defining and providing effective reasonable adjustments.
Within the framework of the reforms implemented in the field of education, she emphasized:
- ✦ Involvement of psychologists in all schools of the RA, highlighting the works carried out by the RPPC, aimed at improving and modernizing the psychologists’ professional skills;
- ✦ the processes of transforming special schools into Resource Centers and educational establishments implementing educational programs;
- ✦ as well as the implementation of the total inclusive education system in the fields of preschool and secondary vocational education.
