Within the framework of the “Available Community Social Services” (CLASS) program an event on the topic “The Community Social Worker at the Center of Reforms” was held on April 14th, 2023. It is aimed at highlighting the importance of the social worker in the context of social protection sector reforms.
Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia A. Svajyan, Project Manager Aida Muradyan, USAID Armenia Democracy and Governance Office Director Kelley Strickland, Deputy Director of the Republican Pedagogical – Psychological Center H. Adamyan, representatives of the Ministry of Territorial Administration and Infrastructure of the Republic of Armenia took part in this event.
Deputy Minister of ESCS A. Svajyan emphasized the role of social workers in various fields and especially in establishments providing educational services, referring to the program aimed at developing the capacities of educational establishments implemented by the Republican Pedagogical – Psychological Center.
The deputy director of the Republican Pedagogical – Psychological Center H. Adamyan, spoke about the educational component of the program, distinguishing the functions and significance of the social worker in the context of inclusive education.
Furthermore, the participants referred to other details related to the functions of the social workers, the works performed within the framework of the project presented, as well as the importance of cooperation with partners.
The project is funded by the US Agency for International Development and is implemented in cooperation with World Vision Armenia, the “Child Development Foundation”, Women’s Support Center and the ”ARNAP” Foundation.
