The system of inclusive pre-school education will be implemented in the Republic of Armenia in 2021-2023.
The following steps were taken in 2021:
- ✦ toolkit for assessing children with SEN;
- ✦ necessary legal regulations;
- ✦ development of documents and forms;
- ✦ training modules for educators.
So, each child has the opportunity to receive pedagogic-psychological support services and education in the preschool educational establishments of his community within the framework of total inclusive education.
Territorial Pedagogical-Psychological Support Centers’ specialists assess the needs of special conditions of education of a preschool-age child, on the basis of which an Individual Education and Development Plan is being developed for the child.
Pedagogical-psychological support is provided to children, their parents, and educators by the specialists of TPPSC.
Note, the role of the family is very important for the development of the child in preschool age.
The newly formed system will give all children the opportunity to:
- ✦ be included in education from an early age;
- ✦ detect the difficulties early and;
- ✦ overcome those difficulties.
This process provides a smooth transition to school education and gives an opportunity for an effective start to education.
The right to education is a basic human right and means every child should be able to go to school.
