DECEMBER 3 IS THE INTERNATIONAL DAY OF PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES
On December 3, 2024, the Republican Pedagogical-Psychological Center hosted an event entitled “Unwritten Pages” dedicated to the International Day of Persons with Disabilities. Representatives of non-governmental organizations, RPPC employees, parents, and children participated in the Event.
Welcoming the attendees, RPPC Director Lilit Mnatsakanyan highlighted the significance of the day as another opportunity to talk about and raise awareness of the success stories of persons with disabilities. She attached importance to the need to educate the public about this value system and awareness moving from the formal environment of talking about the problems and various programs of persons with disabilities to the logic of presenting success stories and sharing the positive experience, as, according to her, each story creates a new success story.
The guests of the Event shared their little stories and experiences, including President of “We Can” NGO Armine Harutyunyan, and Chief Executive Director of “Havasar” NGO Amalya Harutyunyan, as well as parents of children of the RPPC “MIASIN” (together) theater troupe philologist and journalist Arpi Khachatryan, and economist Tehmine Asatryan, who also spoke about her “One of You” book, which is a unique autobiography about her own experiences, the path she has taken with her child, and the challenges she has faced.
President of “We Can” NGO Armine Harutyunyan offered a unique interpretation of the significance of the day: “On this day, we can celebrate our small achievements and present the successes recorded year after year.”
Then, Director of the RPPC “MIASIN” (Together) theater troupe Marine Asatryan introduced the “Unwritten Pages” Event, which was a special attempt to bring together the successes of the theater troupe participants, their dreams, as well as the written and yet unwritten pages of their achievements.
The children described each other through an interesting game and, recalling their small achievements, turned the day into a unique event to share success stories.
