In April 2026, a series of two-day training courses on the “ASSESSMENT, PREVENTION AND INTERVENTION OF PROBLEMATIC BEHAVIOUR IN THE SCHOOL ENVIRONMENT” topic was launched by the Republican Pedagogical-Psychological Center.
The aim of the Training Course is to contribute to the formation of a psychologically safe, supportive, and predictable educational environment in schools by developing knowledge-based, systematic, and sensitive approaches among specialists.
The Training Course is conducted by Methodologist-Trainer at the RPPC Training and Methodological Support Department and Behavioural Therapist Marine Babayan.
Psychologists and support specialists from Yerevan N 2, N 3, and N 4 Territorial Pedagogical-Psychological Support Centers, as well as Yerevan Special School № 11 for Mentally Retarded Children, participated in the Training Courses.
During the Training Courses, participants discussed the types of problematic behaviours in the school environment, the possible causes, behaviour assessment tools, and effective intervention methods. The basic principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) were examined, including identifying behavioural functions, the application of preventive and responsive interventions, as well as effective behaviour management techniques in the school environment.
The specialists got informed about the following key topics:
- ✦ basic approaches to behaviour assessment and analysis;
- ✦ identifying and understanding the behavioural functions;
- ✦ tools for behaviour observation and data collection;
- ✦ effective strategies for promoting positive behaviour;
- ✦ development of individual behaviour intervention plans.
The Training Courses were accompanied by active discussions and practical activities, contributing to the development of professional competencies and the exchange of experience.
