In March-April 2026, training courses on “CONSCIOUS PARENTING AS AN IMPORTANT FACTOR IN CHILD DEVELOPMENT” topic were conducted by Armine Avagyan, Psychologist, Methodologist-Trainer at the Department of Training and Methodological Support of the Republican Pedagogical-Psychological Center, which were attended by 84 parents of students from general educational institutions attached to Yerevan N 1, N 2, N 3, and N 4 Territorial Pedagogical-Psychological Support Centers.
The aim of the training course was to develop parents’ knowledge, skills, and conscious attitudes towards effective parenting, which in turn would contribute to the healthy emotional, social, and cognitive development of children.
Within the framework of the training course, attention was drawn to:
- ✦ age-related and individual psychological characteristics of children;
- ✦ principles and approaches of positive and effective parenting;
- ✦ development of parent-child communication skills;
- ✦ recognition and management of parents’ emotions;
- ✦ development of a child’s self-esteem, independence, and sense of responsibility;
- ✦ conscious and safe use of the digital environment;
- ✦ promotion of a child’s motivation for learning;
- ✦ formation of an atmosphere of trust and cooperation in parent-child relationships.
The training course for parents was structured with a combination of theoretical and practical components, ensuring the active engagement and participation of the attendees.
Training courses aimed at the continuous development and improvement of parents’ capacities, knowledge, and skills on the above-mentioned topic are being further implemented by specialists of the Territorial Pedagogical-Psychological Support Centers.
