“THE GRANDFATHER AND THE TURNIP” GAME
Author: Lyudmila Gareginyan

The game is based on the folk tale of the same name and is designed for primary school students.
The objectives of the game are to:
- ✦ develop children’s listening, reading, and memory skills while helping them recall the content and main idea of the tale;
- ✦ promote an understanding of the value of cooperation and collective effort, making learning more dynamic and motivating.
The game also teaches children how to use screen time effectively.
During the game, children first listen to the audio version of or read “The Grandfather and the Turnip” tale, and then move on to the interactive part of the game, which includes a variety of tasks, such as different types of questions, putting events in the correct sequence, and more.
The game can be played either independently or with friends.
Through this game, children not only reinforce their understanding of the tale’s content but also actively communicate, developing their language, logical thinking, and communication skills. The game also helps develop children’s attention, their analytical thinking, and teamwork skills.
Lyudmila’s blog also contains many other games, interesting information, and materials, which we will present next.
