On August 27, 2026, a working meeting was held at the Republican Pedagogical-Psychological Center, chaired by Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia Araksia Svajyan, with the participation of the directors of the Territorial Pedagogical-Psychological Support Centers (TPPSCs). The meeting was also attended by Director of the Republican Pedagogical-Psychological Center Lilit Mnatsakanyan, Head of the General Education Department of the RA Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports Tamara Sargsyan, and Head of the Department for the Development and Implementation of General Education and Extracurricular Programs Susanna Azatyan, as well as other representatives of the education sector.
During the Meeting, the results and achievements of the previous academic year were summarized, and the key work priorities for the new academic year were presented. The issues in the field, upcoming tasks, and the main directions aimed at creating an inclusive, safe, and violence-free educational environment, as well as ensuring accessibility of education, were discussed.
RA MoESCS Deputy Minister touched upon the planned changes in the financing procedure for TPPSCs and the processes associated with them. The meeting also covered issues related to the efficiency of TPPSCs activities, the increase in the quality of provided pedagogical-psychological support in the new academic year, as well as the technological equipment and modernization of the centers were discussed.
Particular attention was paid to the development of educational technologies and the digitization of processes. Programs linked to the operation of computers, organizational processes, and access to digital tools provided by the National Center for Educational Technologies (NCET) to specialists supporting TPPSCs, were also discussed.
In the direction of professional development, the initiative for voluntary certification of specialists providing pedagogical-psychological support services was emphasized.
Particular attention was attached to the process of reorganizing special schools into resource centers. In this context, opportunities for expanding cooperation, training specialists, providing professional support to TPPSCs, strengthening cooperation mechanisms and exchanging experience, as well as organizing mutual professional support if needed, were considered.
One of the key topics of discussion was providing reasonable adaptations for children with special educational needs and improving the accessibility of the physical environment, in accordance with the individual needs of each learner.
The need to develop and implement effective mechanisms to direct home-schooled children to school was emphasized.
Special attention was drawn to the effective implementation of pedagogical-psychological support provided by TPPSCs to students with exceptional abilities.
The process of evaluating children admitted to school after the prescribed age was also discussed, including its deadlines, organizational issues, and opportunities to increase the efficiency of the activities carried out by TPPSCs in this direction.
The importance of TPPSCs in improving the quality of pedagogical-psychological support services and fully realizing the right to education of every learner was underscored.
TPPSC directors, in turn, presented the challenges they encountered during their activities and made relevant recommendations.
The Meeting was accompanied by an educational expo, within the framework of which the publications of the Republican Pedagogical-Psychological Center were presented, including professional literature and manuals, workbooks, educational and methodological guides, as well as didactic materials created by RPPC specialists, developmental games, examples of reasonable adaptations, and assistive technologies.
