The Republican Pedagogical-Psychological Center continues its series of courses aimed at cooperating with the parent community and raising their awareness.
On August 28, 2026, a training course for parents was held on the “HOW TO SUPPORT A CHILD’S SPEECH DEVELOPMENT AND LEARNING AT HOME: SPEECH THERAPY ADVICE” topic.
The trainer of the Course was Emilia Tadevosyan, Specialist at RPPC Content Development Department, PhD in Pedagogy, Associate Professor.
The aim of the Course was to provide parents with practical knowledge and tools to support the development of speech, cognitive, and learning skills among preschool- and primary school-aged children at home, and to facilitate a smoother transition to formal schooling.
The speaker presented practical approaches, games, and exercises aimed at speech development, including the correct pronunciation of sounds, phonemic perception, phonemic-syllabic analysis and synthesis, vocabulary enrichment, and the development of grammatical and coherent speech.
The importance of a supportive family environment in fostering children’s speech and learning skills was emphasized. Effective approaches to promoting communication with children and developing their independence and initiative were presented, along with practical ways of engaging with children in natural and everyday situations.
Attention was also given to the development of fine motor skills, graphomotor skills, visual-spatial perception and orientation, and skills associated with interhemispheric interaction, as well as effective methods for preparing children for learning to read and write.
Effective principles for supporting the teaching of reading and writing were presented, and the importance of cooperation among parents, schools, and specialists was emphasized in order to identify children’s difficulties in a timely manner and provide the necessary support effectively.
