Took place the final discussion of the “Support to the development and implementation of adapted educational materials in general inclusive education system” project, which was implemented in cooperation with the Initiative for Inclusion NGO and RPPC.
The discussion was attended by representatives of the RA MoESCS, People in Need Armenia NGO, UNICEF Armenia, ASPU, RA TPPSCs, Initiative for Educational, Social and Legal Inclusion NGO and RPPC, school directors and teachers.
Since September 2021, an experimental program has been implemented in 11 secondary schools of Yerevan, Lori and Armavir marzes, within the framework of which 55 children with SEN or permanent learning difficulties will be able to participate in the educational process with easier teaching materials. They had the opportunity to learn through workbooks adapted to the textbooks “Mother Tongue 1” and “Mathematics 1” for the first grade of secondary school. Within the framework of the program, 120 teachers, special educators, speech therapists and psychologists received practical support for the effective adaptation of educational materials to the diverse educational needs of students.
The project is part of the EU-funded People in Need Armenia project “Civil Society Actors as drivers in the South Caucasus and Moldova”.
During the meeting the course and results of the project, the published adapted materials were presented, also the stakeholders expressed their views and further steps were discussed.
The cooperation was successful! The planned further actions will be aimed at ensuring the continuity of the process and increasing its efficiency.
