A working discussion was held at RPPC on workbooks adapted to “Mother Tongue 1” and “Mathematics 1” textbooks for the first-grade of the general school with the participation of the authors – the specialists of the RPPC Content Development Department.
The workbooks, which include pre-alphabetical and pre-digital periods, have been published within the framework of the ”Support for the adapted educational materials development and introduction in the total inclusive educational system of the RA” project which is implemented in cooperation with the “Initiative for Educational, Social and Legal Inclusion” NGO.
Since September of this year, these books are being tested in 11 schools of Yerevan, Lori and Armavir Regions.
Also, teachers’ opinions, who are conducting the experimental work and the parents whose children are working with the workbooks were discussed during the meeting. The feedback is extremely positive, emphasizing the fact that education has become more accessible and participatory for these children, which will be the basis for ensuring the continuity of work. Further actions were also discussed, particularly, in connection with the development of a methodological manual attached to these workbooks.
The project is part of the EU-funded People in Need Armenia project “Civil Society Actors as drivers in the South Caucasus and Moldova”.
