Lala Sahakyan A workshop named “I AM IMPORTANT”, organized by the RA MoESCS, was launched at the Armenian State Pedagogical University.
It is aimed at valuing preschool education as the initial link of general education. So, the organizers aimed to inform about the ongoing reforms, the existing problems and the steps taking towards solutions, as well as modern pedagogical approaches.
Deputy Minister of MoESCS Araqsia Svajyan, RPPC director Lilit Mnatsakanyan, Executive Director at “National Center for Education Development and Innovation” Foundation Artashes Torosyan, UNICEF Deputy Representative in Armenia Silvia Mestroni, Rector of Khachatur Abovyan Armenian State Pedagogical University Srbuhi Gevorgyan, directors of preschool educational establishments and other officials of the field make an oppening speech.
Deputy Minister of MoECSC Araqsia Svajyan highlighted the importance of the workshop as an opportunity to summarize the activities carried out in the field of preschool education.
RPPC director Lilit Mnatsakanyan spoke about reforms in the field of preschool education, highlighting the introduction of total inclusive education system in the field of preschool education. Also, she referred to the implemented legal regulations, early identification of children with SEN and developmental conditions through cooperative work, assessment and the process of providing pedagogical and psychological support.
Additionally, various issues related to the standard requirements of preschool education, total inclusion in the field of preschool education, information system of preschool education management were discussed during the workshop.
RPPC deputy director Haykuhi Adamyan, and director of the Noyemberyan branch of the “Bridge of Hope” NGO Lusine Antonyan were among the speakers of the workshops.
Within the framework of the topic “Total inclusion in the field of preschool education”, H. Adamyan presented the activities of the Republican Pedagogical-Psychological Center, the processes implemented in the field of preschool education, referred to the manuals developed and published by the Center. These publications are intended for teachers and parents of preschool educational establishments.
Also, she emphasized the role of inclusion in pre-school education from the point of view of early identification of the need for special conditions of education and development, response and organizing appropriate training as well.
