Within the framework of the pilot program “Introduction of special pedagogical services for children with the need of 3rd and 4th degree support in schools” on June 6-7, 2024 “Perkins International” Perkins School for the Blind experts and the Armenian representative of the organization along with RPPC experts, visited the schools included in the pre-selected program, where meetings were held with school directors, deputy directors in charge of education, and nurses.
During the meetings, the experts discussed several issues related to the furnishing of the classrooms, and the selection and provision of examination materials, talked with the students, and familiarized themselves with the existing environmental adaptations in the schools.
Then the meetings and discussions continued at the Republican Pedagogical-Psychological Center. The participants supplemented their professional knowledge with new practical skills. Within the framework of the project, international experts handed over to RPPC partners a set of assistive technologies, alternative communication devices, which will greatly contribute to the effective implementation of the current pilot program.
Let us remind you, that this project is implemented through the cooperation of the RA MoESCS and USAID Armenia, UNICEF Armenia, and the Republican Pedagogical-Psychological Center in cooperation with the “Introduction of psychological support services in educational establishments and the expansion of the reorganization of the Special school-resource center for children with hearing impairments” within the framework of the “Strengthening of the educational system” program.
