Within the framework of cooperation with the RA MoESCS, the Republican Pedagogical-Psychological Center, and the National Commission of Armenia for UNESCO, within the framework of the project “Inclusion of forcibly displaced children from Nagorno-Karabakh in the educational process by increasing their psychosocial resilience” held training courses on “CHILDREN’S PSYCHOSOCIAL INCREASE OF ENDURANCE” on from May 14 to June 1, 2024.
The training courses aimed to contribute to the increase of psychosocial resilience of children studying in general educational establishments by enriching the knowledge of psychologists and teachers in the field of mental health and psychosocial support, improving and modernizing their professional skills.
So, within the framework of the project, 22 training courses were held in all regions of the Republic of Armenia and in Yerevan, which were attended by 690 psychologists working in educational establishments. As training specialists, they will conduct training on the same topic during June and August in the schools where they work. As a result, during the new school year, the trained teachers will work with the students with a modular curriculum.
The training courses were held face-to-face, supplementing the participants’ knowledge of the following sub-topics:
- ✦ Children’s Endurance Program. psychological support in schools
- ✦ Self-determination
- ✦ Social-emotional development
- ✦ Management of emotions and feelings
- ✦ Relationships and communication
- ✦ School as a social-emotional environment
- ✦ Group and individual intervention techniques with children with traumatic experiences.
The materials used during the training courses were based on an interactive, hands-on approach that enabled participants to gain new knowledge, use what they have already learned, test new approaches, and interact with and receive feedback from colleagues and trainers in a safe environment.
Note, the period of schooling is an important stage in the development of basic capacities for psychosocial well-being.
