The end-of-year working meeting held at the Republican Pedagogical-Psychological Center on December 19 with the participation of the directors of the RA Territorial Pedagogical-Psychological Support Centers and RPPC staff was aimed at summing up the activities carried out during 2024. Chief Specialist of the Department of General Education of the RA MoESCS Anahit Muradyan, and Coordinator of UNICEF’s Educational Program Hasmik Arakelyan were also present at the meeting.
Welcoming the attendees, Mrs. Muradyan spoke about a number of key issues related to universal inclusion, attaching particular importance to the activities carried out to involve all children in classroom processes, ensure accessibility of the physical environment and reasonable adaptations, emphasizing the importance of clarifying the tasks of schools and TPPSCs and building effective partnerships.
RPPC Director Lilit Mnatsakanyan briefly touched upon the activities carried out by RPPC and TPPSCs during the period of January to December 2024, drawing parallels with the activities carried out during the same period of the previous year and objectively assessing the recorded positive dynamics. She summarized the efforts undertaken in the areas of evaluations, training sessions, consultations, monitoring, and content development, highlighting the positive trends in the presented quantitative and qualitative indicators. Mrs. Mnatsakanyan also emphasized the importance of cooperation and accountability between psychologists in schools and TPPSCs in the context of introducing the position of a psychologist in schools and developing their work package. She highlighted the need to ensure that students’ rights to uninterrupted class attendance are upheld, as well as the importance of designing flexible mechanisms to organize and provide support effectively.
UNICEF Representative H. Arakelyan presented the new toolkit for assessing the special educational needs developed by the Republican Pedagogical-Psychological Center and created with the financial support of UNICEF within the framework of the “Improving the pedagogical and psychological support service system for children with SEN” program, the work packages of which were transferred to TPPSCs directors to ensure a more efficient implementation of the assessment process.
TPPSCs directors presented the activities they had carried out, and raised issues of concern to them. Options for effective solutions were discussed, and the nature and framework of the activities planned for next year were clarified.
