The third webinar on the topic “HOW TO ENCOURAGE CHILDREN WITH MULTIPLE DISABILITIES TO LEARN AND RESEARCH” was held in cooperation with the Republican Pedagogical-Psychological Center and Perkins International.
The speaker of the webinar was the expert from “Perkins International” Martina Celizic. She presented different strategies for working with children with multiple disabilities, aimed at encouraging a holistic approach to learning, taking into account the principles of action-based intervention, active learning, and the so-called “spiral learning”.
All children learn when they are given equal opportunities in all types of development: motor, communication, cognitive, and social.
The speaker also emphasized the development of meaningful programs for children and young people with multiple disabilities based on an assessment of abilities, interests, and needs. Additionally, she spoke about the need to develop children’s interest in learning through the targeted arrangement of the environment, emphasizing this component in the system of a holistic approach to education.
