A round-table discussion on “ASSESSMENT TOOLKIT OF INCLUSIVE EDUCATION IN SCHOOLS” topic was held at the Republican Pedagogical-Psychological Center within the framework of the “Armenian Caritas” benevolent NGO’s program “Contribute to the creation of inclusive and quality education for all in Armenia”.
The round table discussion was aimed at the discussion of the results of the testing of the inclusiveness assessment toolkit in schools and the work being carried out in the direction of its implementation.
Director of the Republican Pedagogical-Psychological Center Lilit Mnatsakanyan, Chief Specialist of the department of general education of the MoESCS Mrs. Anahit Muradyan, representative of the “Armenian Caritas” benevolent NGO Arevik Tumasyan welcomed the attendees.
The RA MoESCS, Republican Pedagogical-Psychological Center, “Armenian Caritas” benevolent NGO, UNICEF Armenia, FAR, the Human Rights Defender’s Office, NCEDI Foundation, the Child Development Foundation, and organizations operating in the field of education and non-governmental organizations, directors of TPPSCs’ and schools, education experts were present at the discussion.
Furthermore, the expert group, in which the RPPC deputy director Haykuhi Adamyan, RPPC specialists Ani Gareginyan, Marina Hovhannisyan, and Liana Margaryan, were involved, presented the process of development of the assessment toolkit for inclusiveness in schools, methodology, test results, and feedback.
Then the directors of the schools referred to their observations regarding the “Assessment Toolkit for Inclusion in Schools”, and presented the implemented works and processes.
During the active question-and-answer session, the participants presented their opinions and discussed the proposed issues and the possibilities of their solutions.
The event was summed up by RPPC director L. Mnatsakanyan, noting that the data collected as a result of the use of the toolkit can be used to increase, develop, and improve the effectiveness of inclusive education in the RA.
She also thanked the RPPC expert group and “Armenian Caritas” for their effective cooperation, underlining the importance of the presented observations and recommendations in the process of improving the toolkit.
