“Children’s special creative center” SNPO with the support of the RA MoESCS implements art education in the field of arts and crafts for children with disabilities, orphans, children with SEN and socially disadvantaged children. The Center has 145 groups in Yerevan and in five regions of Armenia. They also organize concerts, festivals, cognitive and educational excursions, volunteer work, and master classes.
At the EduArmenia2023 workshop, A. Karapetyan presented the “Inclusiveness in the field of cultural education” topic.
The report details the program “Inclusion in cultural education” implemented in music and art schools with the support of RA MoESCS, which is aimed at ensuring the development of inclusive teaching skills of educators, acquisition of appropriate knowledge and skills for working with children with disabilities, elimination of stereotypes towards children with SEN. Additionally, this program is for ensuring the elimination of stereotypes towards children with disabilities, and the right to education on equal conditions.
