Within the framework of the “Inclusion of forcibly displaced children from Nagorno-Karabakh in the educational process by increasing their psychosocial resilience” project, which is jointly implemented by the Republican Pedagogical-Psychological Center and UNESCO, Education Assistance Evaluation in Emergencies Mission Expert Group is in Armenia on May 13-17. The visit aims to provide technical support to the project implementation process.
On May 14 the members of the mission’s expert group visited RPPC. During the meeting with RPPC colleges, the procedures and details of the implementation of the project were thoroughly discussed, and appropriate changes were made according to the needs arising during the process.
Also, the experts had the opportunity to participate in the first round of training courses organized by the RPPC for about 632 psychologists. They talked with the participants and training specialists, asked questions about the psychological difficulties faced by forcibly displaced children from Nagorno-Karabakh, and shared their own experiences.
The members of the expert group, together with the RPPC director L. Mnatsakanyan, visited schools N 174 and N 33 in Yerevan, met and talked with the forcibly displaced children from Nagorno-Karabakh, their parents, and the pedagogical staff. They got acquainted with the issues that arise, which are related to the children’s adaptation to the new environment, as well as questions to analyze and assess their psychosocial resilience were discussed.
