On April 9, 2026, a webinar on the “ADAPTATION OF MATERIALS AND THE OPTIMIZATION OF SPACE FOR VISUAL FUNCTIONING” topic was held within the framework of cooperation with the Republican Pedagogical-Psychological Center and the Perkins School for the Blind organization.
The speaker of the Webinar was an expert from the “Perkins International” organization Nikolina Mihalić Kocijan.
Effective environmental design plays a crucial role in the use of visual function. This Webinar provided a comprehensive overview of the various factors that influence an individual’s visual function in different contexts, including both direct influences and broader socio-economic and familial factors. It also addressed the specific features of organizing a physical and acoustic environment and reasonable adaptations.
The speaker presented the mechanisms of influence of external stimuli, offering specialists and parents strategies for managing factors affecting visual function, guidelines for effectively adapting space and materials, and organizing different environments, which will help people with visual impairments in the process of effectively using their vision.
