On June 15, 2026, the Republican Pedagogical-Psychological Center held a regular WORKING MEETING with mentors and Observers of the “ENSURING THE DEVELOPMENT OF TEACHING SKILLS OF GENERAL EDUCATION SCHOOL TEACHERS AND ASSISTANT TEACHERS” program.
RPPC Director Lilit Mnatsakanyan, summarizing the results of the activities carried out during 2025-2026, emphasized the importance of the Program and the active participation of mentors in various processes aimed at increasing the efficiency of education. She highlighted the need to organise proper work with the administrative staff of educational institutions to form student protection teams and establish mechanisms to ensure their effectiveness.
Summary data for the reporting year were presented, in particular:
- ✦ The Program has been implemented by 69 mentors and 7 observers in 131 schools in Yerevan and all Marzes of the Republic of Armenia, with 51,175 students, including 1,110 with special educational needs.
- ✦ 2,821 teachers, teacher assistants, and other members of the academic staff participated in 50 hours of training and mentoring support through lesson plan review, collaborative lesson plan development, classroom observation, and response mechanism.
- ✦ Due to mentoring support, 5,915 lesson plans were reviewed, appropriate improvement suggestions were given, and 3,626 lesson plans were developed through joint efforts. Observations were carried out during the lessons conducted with these lesson plans, and feedback was provided in order to improve the work.
- ✦ Teachers conducted 933 meetings with students aimed at increasing their psychosocial resilience.
- ✦ Student Protection teams have been formed in schools, and as a result of their work, support and guidance have been provided in more than 20 cases.
One of the important components of the Program is the cooperation with Territorial Pedagogical-Psychological Support Centers (TPPSCs), within the framework of initiative, 44 meetings were conducted, during which opportunities for strengthening cooperation were discussed, individual cases identified in schools were reviewed, joint training activities were planned, and mechanisms for ensuring feedback from and communication with parents were considered.
The mentors expressed their observations on increasing the effectiveness of the Program’s implementation mechanisms, and various issues aimed at improving mentoring support were discussed.
