On May 21, 2026, a webinar entitled “IMPLEMENTATION OF SENSORY STRATEGIES IN EDUCATIONAL AND REHABILITATION WORK” was held in cooperation with the Republican Pedagogical-Psychological Center and the Perkins School for the Blind organization.
The speakers of the Webinar were Nikolina Juric Tanfara and Ivana Rogar Gojević, experts from “Perkins International” organization. The Webinar presented what sensory perception is in general, how the body responds to sensory stimuli of the environment, how a sensory stimulus becomes a response, and what actions and strategies should be implemented in cases of sensory integration disorders and sensory processing difficulties.
The impact of sensory processing on the behaviour of children with developmental issues and the assessment of sensory integration, the mechanisms for delivering appropriate sensory stimuli in the case of different behavioural manifestations, as well as the specifics of working with children with different levels of sensitivity to sensory stimuli, were considered. The speakers attached importance to the adaptive response as a measure of children’s sensitivity, which helps to understand whether sensory processing is functioning properly or whether the children need support in terms of their sensory function.
The speakers emphasized the importance of additional fundamental sensory stimulation, the impact of which changes the students’ behaviour and promotes their active participation in certain tasks, discussed the adaptations related to different sensory systems, the sensory assessment toolkit, as well as the methods and strategies for their effective application.
We would like to remind you that the series of webinars is aimed at the exchange of best practices between specialists from different countries.
