In cooperation with UNICEF Armenia and Source Foundation Supporting Children with Disabilities, in ”Child and Family Support Center of Lori Marz” SNCO a ” Guyqadaran – Special Equipment Library” for children win SEN was opened on May 5, 2023.
It is aimed to provide support services to children with disabilities and to promote their social inclusion as well.
RA Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Affairs T. Stepanyan, Deputy Governor of Lori Marz G. Asryan, Head of Education Programs Department of UNICEF Armenia A. Poghosyan, Director of “SORS” Foundation M. Parazyan, Director of the Republican Pedagogical – Psychological Center L. Mnatsakanyan and Deputy Director H. Adamyan, other representatives of the field were present at this event. The guests emphasized the importance of implementation of such a service in Lori Marz.
Due to this program, 50 beneficiary children of this Center will be able to use about 60 types of equipment designed for sports and rehabilitation, sensory integration and comfortable positioning of the body.
Additionally, the program provides training courses for parents by relevant specialists to ensure the correct usage and efficiency of this equipments. By the way, children can also use the property at home, school, and other community centers. The project is being piloted, and if Guyqadaran – Special Equipment Library succeed, this kind of centers will be opened in other regions as well.
The project was implemented within the framework of the joint program UNDP and UNICEF Armenia “Improved Services for Equal Participation and Inclusive Development”, which is funded by the Russian Federation.
