“Change of perception. Expanding Teachers’ Rights and Opportunities” module on interpersonal communication in the context of inclusive education was developed by the UNICEF Europe and Central Asia Regional Office and complements UNICEF’s previous training manual on inclusive education (2015). It is about the self-confidence of the teaching staff, their attitudes, beliefs, and norms. Also, it aims to promote and support the inclusion of every child, regardless of their social, religious, cultural, economic, geographical, or ethnic background and disability.
This module helps teachers develop their capacity, skills, and confidence to become culturally aware educators who use inclusive practice, engage with diverse populations, and act as devotees for inclusion in their educational and social communities.
The materials used in the current module are based on an interactive and practical approach to total support, which enables participants to acquire new knowledge, apply what they have learned in practice, test new approaches, and respond to and receive feedback from colleagues and trainers.
