The Republican Pedagogical-Psychological Center hosted the training courses on the “PROVISION OF PSYCHOLOGICAL SUPPORT IN SCHOOL” topic, which was attended by 27 psychologists working in mainstream educational establishments from 3 regions of RA: Syunik, Vayots Dzor, Tavush, and Yerevan on May 13-15, 2024.
The speakers were the specialists of the RPPC Department of Training and Methodological Support R. Muradyan and O. Grigoryan.
This series of trainings is aimed at contributing to the expansion of the knowledge of psychologists working in educational establishments, about their functions and professional ethical norms, the development of professional abilities, the formation of practical and effective strategies for working with students, parents and teachers, and the improvement of psychological support at school as well.
The key topics were related to the main functions of the school psychologist, the main forms of psychological work and ethical aspects, the factors hindering the effectiveness of communication with students, parents, and teachers and the consequences of their influence, the psychological work carried out with children of different age groups, teachers, parents, as well as various issues to the specifics of psychological work, if it is available.
This series of these training courses were organized within the “Introduction of Mental Health and Psychological Support /MHPSS/ services in schools” component of “Strengthening the educational system through the implementation of psychological support services in educational institutions and the expansion of the reorganization of the special school-resource center for children with hearing impairments” program implemeted in cooperation with the RA MoESCS, UNICEF Armenia and the Republican Pedagogical-Psychological Center.
