The concluding conference of the program “For Bullying Free School” implemented with the support of the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Armenia organized by the Institute of Liberal Politics NGO took place on July 3, 2024.
The president of “Liberal Politics Institute” NGO Tatevik Matinyan, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary H.E. Mr. Jaap Frederiks and RPPC director Lilit Mnatsakanyan.
RPPC director presented the work carried out by the Center on the identification and study of bullying in schools, spoke about the manifestations of bullying, the importance of early detection and prevention, referred to the international research conducted in this direction. Also, she emphasized the development of anti-bullying measures and policies and the creation of appropriate procedures.
Yuliana Melkumyan, representative of the Center for Humanitarian Demining and Expertise, presented the results of the research work “Bullying in the RA Schools”.
Furthermore, RPPC deputy director Haykuhi Adamyan referred to “Bullying Prevention and Response Procedures in Schools”, emphasizing the practical approach in the direction of developing effective response mechanisms and clarifying prevention procedures, consistent work with school staff and students. She emphasized the importance of fixing the legal framework of the anti-bullying policy in the child rights protection system.
RPPC methodologist-trainer, psychologist Ani Khudoyan spoke about “DEVELOPMENT OF SOFT SKILLS AS A FACTOR FOR PREVENTING AND OVERCOMING BULLYING” manual presenting the structure of the manual, the features and content of working with it. She also mentioned the target directions in the process of preventing and responding to bullying, in particular, reducing the manifestations of bullying by strengthening the abilities of educators, increasing the awareness of students and thus increasing their protection.
Note, within the framework of cooperation between RPPC and the “Institute of Liberal Politics”, the manual “DEVELOPMENT OF SOFT SKILLS AS A FACTOR FOR PREVENTING AND OVERCOMING BULLYING” was developed and published by RPPC. Authors are Lilit Mnatsakanyan, Haykuhi Adamyan and Ani Khudoyan.
The conference ended with the summary of the picture competition “Let’s Picture Bullying”, where the works of school-aged children were presented.
