In June 2026, Yerevan Special School-Resource Center for Children with Hearing Impairments conducted a series of four-day training courses for specialists from the Territorial Pedagogical-Psychological Support Centers (TTPSCs). Specialists from the Republican Pedagogical-Psychological Center also took part in the Training Courses.
At the closing meeting held within the framework of the training courses, RPPC Director Lilit Mnatsakanyan attached importance to this initiative implemented by Yerevan Special School-Resource Center for Children with Hearing Impairments, considering the training courses as a crucial professional component of continuous development. Mrs. Mnatsakanyan particularly emphasized the need to equip TPPSC specialists, especially special educators, with more specialized professional knowledge in the field of deaf education. RPPC Director also highlighted the expansion of cooperation and the exchange of experience as an essential prerequisite for improving the quality of education and ensuring support for children.
Director of Yerevan Special School-Resource Center for Children with Hearing Impairments Armine Babayan extended her gratitude to the partner organizations for their active involvement, professional commitment, and effective cooperation, emphasizing the importance of initiatives aimed at developing the capacities of specialists in the process of forming unified approaches and, in particular, organizing the education of children with hearing impairments.
Within the framework of the Training Courses, important topics related to the peculiarities of education, communication, speech and social development of children with hearing impairments were discussed, including:
- ✦ Neuroplasticity: A Bridge Between Hearing and Communication;
- ✦ Development of Lip-Reading Skills as an Important Component of Inclusive Education;
- ✦ Characteristics of Auditory Perception in Children with Hearing Impairments and Their Impact on the Prosodic and Expressive Aspects of Speech;
- ✦ Stimulation of Speech and Social Development of Preschool Children with Hearing Impairments Through Play-Based Activities.
Participants were introduced to modern approaches, practical methods, and innovative tools that can contribute to enhancing the efficiency of daily professional work.
The Training Courses are conducted on an ongoing basis.
