Within the framework of the project “Improving the Pedagogical-Psychological Support Service System for Children with Special Educational Needs” implemented in cooperation with the UNICEF Armenia, a two-day training course on “Assessment of Hearing Perception of Hearing Impaired Children” was held on March 27-28 at the Republican Pedagogical-Psychological Center. So, special educators and speech therapists from RPPC and TPPSCs took part in this training course.
Lusine Babayan, a candidate in pedagogical sciences, was the speaker of the course. The participants got acquainted with the features of assessment of auditory perception of children with hearing impairment used in the field of hearing research and correction, early diagnosis, and intervention of hearing disorders. Also, the speaker referred to the organization of education for children with hearing problems in the context of inclusive education.
In the second part of the training course, the participants strengthened their practical skills. In particular, the factors affecting the development of speech were addressed, keeping in mind the mutual connection between speech and hearing. Additionally, the practical part was carried out with group discussions, interesting exercises, and an active quiz.
